The NIH Clinical Center is one of the 27 NIH institutes and centers on the frontlines of global medical research and discovery of new therapies to prevent and treat diseases such as cancer, COVID-19, diabetes, hepatitis, and HIV/AIDS. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center selected Andor Health’s ThinkAndor® mobile platform to improve overall clinical research team collaboration and communication. ThinkAndor® will push critical notifications to NIH Clinical Center teams, providers and patients, while increasing overall operational efficiency.

For example, the NIH will use ThinkAndor to deliver real-time notifications such as COVID-19 education, screenings and configurable emergency notifications to staff and patients.

NIH is also preparing to implement the ThinkAndor® Employer toolkit. The toolkit provides employers a virtual platform to aid in the implementation of safe-to-return to work measures. Leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning and bot technology, the toolkit enables functionality that brings clinical context to virtual collaboration sessions, mitigates risk of exposure for employees through ongoing screenings and provides tools for virtual treatment and contact tracing.

Orlando Health deployed ThinkAndor®, to enable comprehensive, real-time care team collaboration beyond the walls of its enterprise. The project is another step in Orlando Health’s overall strategy to improve the patient experience by reducing care gaps and strengthening communications between clinicians inside and outside of its network.

Orlando Health is utilizing ThinkAndor to automate the notification of primary care providers (PCP) within 24 hours of patient admission and the delivery of discharge summaries to those PCPs as required by House Bill 843, a Florida regulation.

Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center is Florida’s fifth largest hospital. Founded in 1916 as Morrell Memorial Hospital, this 864-bed, comprehensive tertiary referral hospital operates the Jack and Tina Harrell Family Institute for Advanced Cardiovascular Medicine; a Level II Trauma Center; the Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children, which includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; and the Bannasch Institute for Advanced Rehabilitation Medicine.

The Medical Center holds high-level accreditations for its Certified Comprehensive Center and Chest Pain Center. Three hybrid operating rooms and a catheterization lab offer patients the least invasive surgeries possible and enhanced safety. The Medical Center is home to the nation’s busiest single site Emergency Department and handles over 3,000 trauma visits annually.

Lakeland Regional teamed up with Andor Health to implement ThinkAndor to meet new regulatory requirements and enable better physician collaboration inside and outside its enterprise.

The project will allow the Tampa Bay healthcare system to comply with new regulations under Florida’s House Bill 843 aimed at strengthening care team coordination and improving quality outcomes.

Enacted on July 1, 2019, the new legislation requires hospitals to notify patients’ primary care providers within 24 hours of admission to their facilities. It also allows patients to request the hospital’s treating physician to consult with their primary care provider or specialist provider.

For large health systems like Lakeland, complying with Florida’s new real-time provider and patient communication and documentation regulations has become especially burdensome.

Lakeland Regional will utilize ThinkAndor® to unlock the data stored in their electronic medical records (EMR) and put it to use in real-time to enable care team collaboration. ThinkAndor also automates the process of providing the discharge summary and medical records to the PCP within 14 days after the patient’s discharge from the hospital as required by Florida law.
